Barbara Ford

June 27, 1943 — January 23, 2003

Barbara Ford, 59, Jamestown, N.D. died Thursday, January 24, 2003 at MedCenter One Hospital in Bismarck, N.D., after a courageous battle with cancer.

Barbara Smith was born June 27, 1943 at Ada, Minnesota, the daughter of Roscoe and Alvina (Mittleider) Smith. She attended school in Oakes, N.D.and later attended Ellendale High School, Ellendale, N.D.

Barbara married Walter Klundt on June 28, 1963 in Medina, N.D. They had one child Stacy. Barb worked at Trinity Hospital in Jamestown, N.D. for many years until it closed in 1966. Barb married Larry Ford in 1970, they had four children, Shilo, Audrey, Joel and Drago. She worked for Hi-Acres Manor for several years.

She did volunteer work during the 1997 flood and at the Jamestown Hospital. She enjoyed arts and crafts and rummage sales. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by five children, Stacy (Richard) Petrek, of Jamestown, N.D.; Shilo (Holly) Ford, of Jamestown, N.D.; Audrey (Curtis) Larck, of Jamestown, N.D.; Joel (Eva) Ford, of Jamestown, N.D.; Drago (Brooke) Ford, of Jamestown, N.D.; three sisters, Marion Sarkisian, of Detroit, MI; Betty Genise, of Florida; Delores (Merrill) Lewis, of Bismarck, N.D.; ten grandchildren (James & Cody Brewer, Tyler, Aaron, and Meghan Ford, Jasmine Schaffer, Danielle, and Grace Ford, Brianna Larck, Zachary Petrek) and one step granddaughter (Katie Larck). She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother (Maynard), and one sister (June).

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. - Monday, January 27, 2003 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Jamestown, N.D., with Rev. Terri Akkerman officiating

Prayer Service: 7:00 P.M. - Sunday, January 26, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, N.D.

Visitation: Sunday, January 26, 2003 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, N.D.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens - Jamestown, N.D.
