Barbara McGillivray, 58, Napoleon, ND, formerly of Jamestown, ND, died Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Napoleon Care Center, Napoleon, ND.

Barbara Kay Mary Liebold was born August 22, 1950 in LaMoure, ND, the daughter of Charles and Katherine (Grommish) Liebold. She attended school in Marion, ND, Tower City, ND and Jamestown, ND. On November 20, 1966 she married Michael Joe McGillivray in Jamestown, ND. They lived in many places including Jamestown, Fargo, Medina and Oklahoma. Michael died on July 22, 2005. Barbara worked as a waitress in Jamestown in several restaurants, at the Comfort Inn in Jamestown, as a bus driver for Head Start, as a cook at Big Jim's Restaurant, at Wal-Mart and as a nursing assistant at Rock of Ages Nursing Home. In 2006, she entered the nursing home in Watford City, ND and in 2008 entered Napoleon Care Center, Napoleon, ND.

She had been very active in her church in younger years, enjoyed crocheting, Elvis Presley music, crossword puzzles, playing cards and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include 8 children: Daniel (Teresa) McGillivray, Jamestown, ND; Kathleen (Andrew) Sandstrom, Watford City, ND; Michael (Cindi) McGillivray, Watford City, ND; Julietta (Chris) Pahl, Jamestown, ND; Robert Johnson, Jamestown, ND; Timothy (Nvette) McGillivray, LaCrosse, WI; Shannon McGillivray, Grafton, ND; Carissa (Brett) McGillivray, Fargo, ND; 21 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings: Liz (Cloyce) Outram, Silverdale, WA; Jim (Sarah) Liebold, Yazoo City, MS; Donna (John) Liebert, Rapid City, SD and Thomas Liebold, Jamestown, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a dear friend and 3 brothers.
