Barbara Sizer

Barbara Sizer, 90, of Jamestown, ND, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 21, 2024 at SMP Health – Ave Maria, Jamestown.

Barbara Ann and her twin sister, Betty, were born October 3, 1933, at home in Uxbridge Township, near Wimbledon, ND, the daughter of Edward and Anna (Rudi) Christ.  She graduated from Uxbridge High School and attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND.  Barb married Myron (Babe) Sizer on September 18, 1953 in Wimbledon, ND.  They made their home on a farm northeast of Wimbledon where she worked alongside Babe milking cows, raising small grains, driving truck and all farm tasks needed.  Barb also maintained a big garden and flower beds on the farm.  She made the best dill pickles and enjoyed baking & cooking for her family.  Barb and Babe raised three children.  They enjoyed bowling in a Hannaford league with friends, watching movies, and playing pinochle.  They retired and moved to Jamestown in 1990, where they picked up golfing regularly.  Babe passed away on June 17, 1992.

Barb is survived by her three children, Leland (Kay) Sizer, David (Julie) Sizer, and Deone (Robb) Kulla; six grandchildren, Emily (Tim) Schmiedeberg, Eric (Allison) Sizer, Tara (Danny) Haugen, Ryan Kulla, Matthew (Courtney) Sizer, and Lauren Sizer; fourteen great-grandchildren, Caleb Schmiedeberg, Cole Schmiedeberg, Isabella Schmiedeberg, Camden Sizer, Parker Sizer, Ava Sizer, Alex Anderson, Devon Haugen, Madi Cole, Adley Kulla, Zane Kulla, Brooks Sizer, Karson Herriot, and Isla Sizer; and brother-in-law, Bruce (Sharon) Shockley.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Myron Sizer; her parents, Edward Sr. & Anna Christ; twin sister, Betty (Art) Kubis; and brother, Edward Jr. (Clara) Christ; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles Sr. & Leona Sizer, as well as Myron’s siblings, Mavis Roberts, Lavern (Clarence) Nogosek, Sorlie (Alfred) Schrade, and Charles Jr. (Marilyn) Sizer.

Funeral Service – 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Jennifer McDonald officiating.

Visitation – 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 23, 2024 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial – Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.

Arrangements are in the care of Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Funeral Service – 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Jennifer McDonald officiating.

Visitation – 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 23, 2024 at Eddy Funeral Home.
