Bernice Law, 88, Wimbledon, North Dakota died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Manor Care Nursing Home, Fargo, North Dakota.
Bernice Irene Garven was born January 2, 1920 to George and Romaine (Jones) Garven in Barnesville, MN. She attended school and grew to womanhood in Barnesville. She later was employed in the Fargo-Moorhead area where she met her husband, Donald Law, of Wimbledon. They were married on July 8, 1944 in Sisseton, South Dakota and made their home in Wimbledon. Donald passed away on August 16, 1993.
Bernice was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Wimbledon, the American Legion Auxillary and the Senior Citizens.
She liked to cook, bake, garden, have coffee parties and play canasta. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, warm smile and her kindness and thoughtfulness to others.
Bernice is survived by three sons, George Law, Wimbledon, ND, Larry (Sofie) Law, Indio, CA and Jay (Robyn) Law, Andover, MN; one daughter, Janice (Elgin) McDaniel, Fargo, ND; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence (Marge) Garven, San Francisco, CA and George (Jeanette) Garven, Overton, NV and one sister, Norma Clark, Anoka, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one brother, Floyd Garven.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Thursday, February 28, 2008 at St. John's United Methodist Church, Wimbledon, ND with Pastor Jeff Levy officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
