Bertha Guthmiller, 95, of Pettibone, ND, died Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Eventide, Jamestown.
Bertha was born February 25, 1925, in Woodworth, ND, the daughter of Peter and Carrie (Guthmiller) Schneider. She attended school in Petersville Township. On July 27, 1947, she married Adam Guthmiller and they farmed on his parents’ farm in Rexine Township until 1951, later moving to another farm in Rexine Township. In 1953 they moved to Pettibone and operated the cream station and bar, until they later retired in 1988.
Bertha enjoyed reading, embroidering, listening to polka and waltz music, and going to church.
She is survived by four daughters, Lavonne (Dennis) Clark, Woodworth, ND, Carol (Dellwyn) Clark, Jamestown, Phyllis (Dennis) Nieswaag, Pettibone, ND, Rolene (Noel) Harr, Mapleton, ND; one son, Norbert (Cheryle) Guthmiller, Bismarck, ND; two sisters, Dorline Guthmiller, Steele, ND and Lucille Morlock, Jamestown; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Carrie Schneider; husband, Adam Guthmiller; brother, Reinhold Schneider; sister-in-law, Alvina Schneider; brother-in-law, Leroy Morlock; grandson, Steven Clark; great-granddaughter, Mikah Guthmiller; and great-Grandson, Beau Bernier.
