Bertha Limesand

Bertha Limesand, 86, Fargo, North Dakota, formerly of Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, June 12, 2006 at Villa Maria Nursing Center in Fargo.

Bertha Hust was born July 7, 1919 in Streeter, North Dakota the daughter of Henry and Katie (Enzminger) Hust. Bertha attended rural farm school through the 7th grade. When she was 18 years of age, she moved with her parents to Tappen, ND. On November 18, 1938, she married David Pfaff at Tappen at her parents home. They farmed in the Tappen area. Five children were born to this marriage. She worked as a nurse's aide at the Bismarck Hospital and at the Golden Manor Nursing Home in Steele, ND. In 1975, Bertha moved to Steele. She worked as a waitress at the bowling alley and as an assistant cook at the Steele School for several years. She also sold Avon. In 1981, she moved to Jamestown, ND. In July, 1983, she married Marvin Limesand of Jamestown, ND. While in Jamestown, Bertha worked at Lil's Restaurant until her retirement.

Bertha enjoyed crocheting and made many afgans, embroidered many sets of pillow cases and towels for her children, grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed baking and baked many kuchen for friends and family. Bertha loved to play bingo! Marvin passed away in July of 1997. Bertha continued to reside in Jamestown until January of 2003, when she moved to Moorhead, MN. In May of 2005, she entered the Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo where she resided until her death.

She is survived by: three daughters, Gloria (Stan) Thorsteinson, Renton, WA, Delores (Duane) Veil, Colorado Springs, CO and Sandra (Lonnie) Freier, Glyndon, MN; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren; one sister, Lydia Kleinknecht, Bismarck, ND; one brother, Wesley Hust, Wycliff, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marvin Limesand, two sons, Leo Pfaff and Curtis Pfaff, five sisters, six brothers and two great grandchildren.

Funeral service: 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 17, 2006 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown with Pastor Gary Ball-Kilbourne, officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Friday, June 16 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Friday, June 16 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
