Bertha Moos

Bertha Moos, 83, Jamestown, North Dakota, formerly of Medina, ND died Monday, May 31, 2004 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center, Jamestown.

Bertha Hofmann was born May 14, 1921 in Medina, North Dakota the daughter of Peter, Sr. and Lydia (Stohr) Hofmann. She grew up and attended school near Medina. Bertha married Leon Moos on September 21, 1940 in Jamestown. They made their home in Medina. Leon died March 4, 1985.

Bertha was a member of the Jamestown Assembly of God Church, Women's Ministry and she read to the elderly in her later years.

Bertha is survived by five children, Pastor Vergil (Judy) Moos, Walhalla, ND; Dianne (Pastor Larry) Freitag, Eden Prairie, MN; Sandra (Reo) Fandrich, Medina, ND; Linda (Missionary Alver) Rance, Honduras, Central America and Amy Moos, Grand Forks, ND, one brother, Fred (LaVerna) Hofmann, Medina, two sisters, Rose Meidinger and Leah (Vernon) Hins, both of Jamestown; 12 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren, and over the years, they opened their home to 87 foster children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; five brothers, Reno, Rudolph, Benjamin, Peter and Jake and two sisters, Sophie and Martha.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 3, 2004 at the First Assembly of God Church, Jamestown with Pastor Darrell Losing officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.

Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina, North Dakota.
