Bertha Bauer Schelske

Bertha Schelske, 97, of Jamestown, ND, died Sunday, August 19, 2007 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown, ND.

Bertha Rath was born February 6, 1910 in Kulm, ND, the daughter of John, Sr. and Mary (Kungel) Rath. She was educated in the Kulm area. Bertha married Alvin Bauer on October 5, 1931 in Parkston, SD. They made their home near Kulm until moving to Jamestown in 1940. Alvin died on December 2, 1958. Bertha married Paul Schelske in April 1964. They lived in Jamestown and Paul died on April 12, 1998. Bertha was an active member of the Jamestown Evangelical Church and the Ladies' Aide.

Bertha is survived by her son, Ronald (Betty) Bauer, Renton, WA; one step-son, Darrell (Luella) Schelske, Sioux Falls, SD; and two step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both husbands; parents; three brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral Service: 2:00PM, Friday, August 24, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Visitation: Thursday, August 23, 2007 from 1:00PM to 8:00PM at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND.
