Bertha Schick

Bertha Schick, 89, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown.

Bertha Guthmiller was born October 14, 1915 in Pettibone, North Dakota the daughter of Ludwig and Barbara (Moser) Guthmiller. She received her education in Pettibone. Bertha married Jacob Schick on April 6, 1937 in Petersville Township. They lived and farmed their entire married life 11 miles north of Pettibone until 1981 when they moved into Pettibone. Jake died November 1, 1999.

Bertha's hobbies included quilting, gardening and baking. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pettibone, the Lutheran Women Missionary League and the Pettibone Senior Citizens.

Bertha is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Ella and Don Thoms, Spiritwood, ND and Doris & Vernon Jewett, Valley City, ND; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Koenig, Sultan, WA and Caroline Schagunn, New Rockford, ND and one brother, Ludwig Guthmiller, Pettibone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers and two sisters.

Funeral Service: 1:30 PM, Saturday, September 10, 2005 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Pettibone with Pastor Mark Schlamann officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 7:30 PM, Friday, September 9, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:30 PM, Friday, September 9, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Petersville Cemetery, Pettibone, North Dakota.
