Betty J. Smith, 91, long time resident of Jamestown, ND passed away on February 23, 2022 at the Mille Lacs Long Term Health Care Facility in Onamia, MN, where she had been a resident since October, 2021.

Betty enjoyed bowling, baking for others and knitting beautiful sweaters for friends and family.  She loved to spend her Wednesday nights and Saturdays playing BINGO with her friends.  Betty loved her family.  Seeing her grandchildren, and later, great grandchildren, would light up her eyes.  She always wanted to be included in activities and never lost her youthful spirit.

Betty is survived by her children, Bruce Smith, Seattle, WA; Cindy (Ivars) Wagner, Onamia, MN; Gary (Carol) Smith, Monticello, MN; and Tammy (Tom) Weber, Fargo, ND; five grandchildren, Mike (Robyn) Dunn, Jessica (Ben) Bouta, Lindsay Smith, Hannah (John) Desrosiers, and Kali Weber; five great grandchildren, Brianna and Elle Dunn, Addison Rundle, Stella Desrosiers, Evelyn Christianson.  She also leaves four siblings, Viola Caudle, Billings, MT; Richard (Jeanette) Stradinger, Rapid City, SD; Fred Stradinger, Boise, ID; Margie Stradinger, Mandan, ND; brother-in-law Alex Stockert, Dickinson, ND and sister-in-law Vonnie Stradinger.  Betty also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, in-laws, four sisters (Rose Kilzer, Evelyn Groll, June Stockert and Jeanette Sagmiller), and four brothers (Robert, Harold, Donald and Lester).

The family would like to thank the Mille Lacs Long Term Health Care Facility for its’ patience and loving care they provided.
