Betty Thompson

Bernadette ""Betty"" Thompson, 69, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at Jamestown Hospital in Jamestown. Bernadette ""Betty"" McBrearty was born May 8, 1934 in Derry, Northern Ireland the daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth (McLaughlin) McBrearty. She grew up in Derry and resided there until 1956. On December 27, 1955 she married Duane Thompson in Derry. They moved to Norfolk, VA for a short time while Duane was serving in the Navy. They moved to Jamestown in 1957 and have lived here since.

Betty enjoyed playing bingo, knitting and going away on weekends. She was member of the Basilica of St. James in Jamestown.

Betty is survived by her husband, Duane of Jamestown, two sons, Patrick Thompson, Jamestown and Michael Thompson, Mandan, ND, two daughters, Elizabeth Thompson, Stevensville, MT and Colleen Thompson, Jamestown, 3 grandchildren, one brother, Patrick (Grace) McBrearty, Derry, Northern Ireland and one sister, Veronica (Joseph) Kevit, Nutley, NJ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and three brothers.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 14, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel with Father John Fisher Kizito officiating.

Visitation: One hour before the service at Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota in the spring.
