Blanche Louise Ackerman, 74, Jamestown, N.D. died Thursday, October 24, 2002 at her daughter's home in Minot, N.D.
Blanche Warner was born August 31, 1928 in Harlow, ND, the daughter of Raymond and Dagney (Thompson) Warner. She grew up and attended school in Harlow and Maddock, ND. She graduated from the Fargo Hair Academy in 1949. Blanche lived in Florida and Michigan, moving to Jamestown in 1961. She married Keith D. Ackerman on June 12, 1967 in Jamestown. He died on May 6, 1979. Blanche worked at the North Dakota State Hospital as a Psychiatric Technician for 18 years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion, the AMVETS of Valley City, and the Jamestown Eagles. She was also very active in Alanon and Beginning Experience. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown. Blanche was a true and trusted friend to many people. She also had several Godchildren and surrogate children.
She is survived by a daughter, Denise (John) Charles, Minot, ND; one son, Darrin Ackerman (Leanne Buckley), Jamestown, ND; three grandchildren, Darcy Charles, Minot, ND and Riley and Adair Ackerman, Jamestown, ND; one brother, Lyle Warner, Harlow, ND; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special companion, Jack Gardner, Jamestown, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and one sister.
Funeral Service: 2:00PM Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Pastor Dennis Ellingsen officiating.
Visitation: Monday, October 28, 2002 from 1:00PM to 9:00PM at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Prayer Service: 7:30PM Monday, October 28, 2002 at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
