Bud Pitra

Francis "Bud" Pitra, 83, Kensal, ND, died Saturday, June 24, 2006 at Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown, ND.
Francis Eugene "Bud" Pitra was born October 6, 1922 on the family farm north of Kensal, ND, the son of Louis and Frances (Tanner) Pitra. He was raised on the family farm and attended the rural Bucephalia Township School and later Kensal High School. After high school, he farmed with his parents until they moved to Carrington, ND in 1973, and then he continued to farm on his own. In 1948, he married Irene Nogosek and they bought a home in Kensal, ND where they have lived ever since.
Bud was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Kensal, ND, and the Jamestown Eagles. He liked to hunt, fish, play cards and dance.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons: Quentin Pitra, Kensal, ND; Michael (Connie) Pitra, Jamestown, ND; a daughter, Susan (Arden) Holte, Jamestown, ND; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-granddaughters and 3 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Harriet Schulz, Carrington; Margie Kulla, Minneapolis, MN; DeLayne Berry, CA and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Keith and 4 brothers-in-law.
Funeral Service - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at St. John's Catholic Church, Kensal, ND with Father Steve Meyer officiating.
Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2006 at St. John's Catholic Church, Kensal, ND.
Visitation - 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2006 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Interment - St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Kensal, ND
