Burton "Bert" Benson

Burton "Bert" Benson, 91, Jamestown died December 31, 2015 at Eventide in Jamestown.
Bert was born September 1, 1924 in Pingree, ND the son of Gilbert and Clara (Skara) Benson. He attended schools in Deer Lake township near Pingree, ND. He married Verlyn Buetow on June 29, 1947 in Eldridge, ND. He worked and was co-owner for Skeels Painting for 32 years. He enjoyed going to auctions and gardening. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Bert is survived by his wife, Verlyn of 68 years, daughter, Sharon (Roger) Greenstein, Jamestown, three sons, David, Amarillo, TX, Bradley, Jamestown, and Larry, Jamestown.
Eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. One brother, Gilbert (Delphine), Jamestown, two sisters, Freda Telken, Jamestown, and Pearl Pruess, AZ. He was preceded in death by, son in infancy, (Jeffrey), two daughters, (Audrey and Lori Ann), two brothers, three sisters, two half brothers.
Funeral service; 11:00 AM, Monday, January 4, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Erik Weber officiating.
Visitation; 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Eddy Funeral Home.
Prayer Service; 6:00 pm, Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Eddy Funeral Home.
