Calver J. Bredahl, 75, Jamestown, N.D. died Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown, N.D.

Calver James was born January 7, 1927, at home in McKinnon Township, near Kensal, N.D., the son of Henry and Bessie (Engebretson) Bredahl. He grew up in McKinnon Township and attended Kensal High School. He was a member of the Kensal Methodist Church where he was confirmed. He farmed for many years near Kensal, N.D.

Calver married Dottie Benson on November 22, 1966 in Jamestown, N.D. They continued to farm near Kensal, N.D. and later moved to Jamestown, N.D. in the summer of 1969. He bartended at the Old Trading Post, the Buffalo Bar, and for many years at the Brass Rail all in Jamestown.

Becoming disabled, he lived at the Gardenette and later the Dewey Apartment's in Jamestown. He entered Hi-Acres Manor August 2, 2002. He struggled with diabetes for many years, also congenital heart trouble and most recently a bout with cancer. He enjoyed bowling with the Kensal Bowling League, as well as fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed reading, major league baseball, high school basketball tournament's, and playing cards with his friends at the James River Senior Citizen Center in Jamestown.

Calver is survived by two sisters, Doris (Vincent) Schaack, Jamestown, N.D.; Violet (Stanley) Gulstad, of Glenfield, N.D.; two stepsons and a step daughter, Jerry (Colleen) Bredahl, of Bismarck, N.D.; Terri (Douglas) Maier, of Bismarck, N.D.; Randie (Bonnie) Bredahl, of Jamestown, N.D.; two nieces, Bonnie (Allen) Stenson, of Jamestown, N.D.; Karen (Steve) Busek, of Bismarck, N.D.; five nephews, Byron (Tina) Schaack, of Jamestown, N.D.; Gary, Ron, and Craig Gulstad, all of Glenfield, N.D.; Rick (Teri) Gulstad, of Prior Lake, MN; many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Henry Bredahl, his mother Bessie (Engebretson) Bredahl, his wife Dottie Benson Bredahl, his brother Edwin Bredahl, two brothers-in-law, Stanley Gulstad and Vincent Schaack.

Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. - Saturday, August 24, 2002 Eddy Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Norman Winkelman officiating.

Prayer Service: 5:00 P.M. - Friday, August 23, 2002 Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, N.D.

Visitation: Friday, August 23, 2002 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, N.D.

Burial: Kensal Cemetery - Kensal, N.D.
