Carl Frey

Carl Frey, 91, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown.

Carl was born June 7, 1915 in Jamestown, the son of Edwin and Clara (Koehn) Frey. He grew up in Bloom township, southeast of Jamestown on the family farm and graduated from Jamestown High School. On May 27, 1939 Carl married Fern Murphy in Jamestown. He lived and farmed in Bloom township all his life. After retirement they spent their winters in Sun Lakes, Arizona. Fern died July 7, 1991.

Carl was president of Bloom Oil for many years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown and served in various positions on the church council. He was also very instrumental in starting the Association for Retarded Children. He enjoyed dancing, bowling and golfing.

Carl is survived by two sons: Jamie Frey, Bismarck, ND and Robert (Sharon) Frey, Jamestown; one daughter, Judi (David) Celaschi, Gilbert, AZ; one brother, James E. Frey, San Francisco, CA; one sister, Doris Radtke, Jamestown, nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern; parents; a son, one brother, Ervin and one sister, Ruth Berg.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 10, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Dennis Ellingsen officiating.

Visitation: 12:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, March 9, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Spring Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
