Carl Gader, 80, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Sunday, February 19, 2006 at MedCenter One in Bismarck, ND.
Mr. Gader was born March 5, 1925 in Saco, Montana, the son of Elly and Isha (Yesda) Gader. The family moved to Ross, ND when Carl was very young and later to Glenfield, ND where he received his education. On December 11, 1944 Carl entered the US Army at Ft. Snelling, MN and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II. He was discharged on July 23, 1946 and returned to Glenfield. Carl married Rosemary Short on October 22, 1947 in Moorhead, MN. They lived in Glenfield where he worked for the railroad, then the REA until 1961. They moved to West Fargo and Carl went to work for the Bureau of Reclamation Energy Department. Rosemary died on November 14, 1965. In 1967 he transferred with the department to Devils Lake. On June 15, 1974 Carl married Geri Garland in Minot, ND. They remained in Devils Lake until Carl retired in 1985 when they moved to Jamestown.
Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and playing the harmonica.
Carl is survived by his wife, Geri of Jamestown, his children: Carla Rotering, Phoenix, AZ; Patty Pederson, St. Paul, MN; Paul (Libby Dunn) Gader, Gainesville, FL and Laurie (Michael) Kresl, Portland, OR; step-children: Judy Romine, Jamestown; Jill Romine, Richland, WA; Jack Romine, Richland, WA; Jon Romine, Fargo, ND and Janean (Tom) Johnson, Mandan, ND, seven grandchildren: Josh Hoganson, Kelly Szymanski, Zachary & Hilary Pederson, Lee & Sam Gader and Katie Kresl; five great-grandchildren, Macaulay, Noah, Zoey, Tierney and Nikolas; eight step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Rosemary, four sisters, Louise, Belinda, Sada, Minnie and two brothers, Charlie and Clamats ""Duke"".
Memorial Service: 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown with Rev. Bryce Tahran officiating.
No visitation is scheduled.
