Carl Siebert

Carl W. Siebert, 74, Jamestown, ND, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 near Fessenden, ND, as a result of an automobile accident.

Carl was born February 2, 1937 in Edmunds, ND, the son of William H. and Anna (Hertel) Siebert. He grew up on the family farm and attended school at Edmunds. Carl enlisted in the US Navy on December 31, 1954 in Fargo, ND and was honorably discharged on December 30, 1962. Carl was married to Grace Schieffer from 1962-1992. He worked as a truck driver for Six States Assn. And then for Mayer Truck Line, Inc. On May 9, 1995 Carl married Irene Miller Kapp in Jamestown.

Carl was a member of the American Legion, where he was currently Chaplain of Post 40 and 8, and the Second Vice Commander of Post 14. He had also served as the Sergeant of Arms, Commander of Post 14 and First and Second Vice Commander.

Carl is survived by his four children, Anna (Thomas) Herrod, Minot, ND, Leland (Johanna) Siebert, Central Point, OR, Carla Siebert and Shannon Siebert, both of Longmont, CO; three grandchildren, Christine (Steven) Kemp, Minot AFB, Minot, ND, Catherine Herrod, Minot and Lindsay Siebert, Central Point, OR; two sisters, Linda (Dave) Moser, West Fargo, ND and Dianna Cody, Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, Roger Siebert, Edmunds, ND and Donald (Mary Ann) Siebert, Jamestown; and all of Irene's family. He will be deeply missed by all who shared in his life.

Carl's wife, Irene, passed away the following day, Monday, October 10, as a result of the same accident.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Rauger Siebert.
