Carol Maxine (Burkett) Grommesh

Carol Grommesh, 84, of Edgeley, ND died on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure.

Carol Maxine Burkett was born at Dawson, North Dakota on April 20, 1933, the daughter of Dewey M. and Lyla M. (Nather) Burkett. She attended Dawson Public School until she moved to Edgeley, ND with her parents in 1943. Carol graduated from Edgeley High School in 1953.She worked at the Ann Carson Center in Jamestown until her marriage to Paul Erikainen on December 10, 1960 at Aberdeen, SD. After his death in 1975, she returned to the Ann Carlson Center until her marriage to Michael Grommesh on December 8, 1985 at Edgeley. They lived in Tappen, ND until Michael was killed and she was disabled in an automobile accident in 1987. She resided with her sister in Edgeley since that time.

Carol is survived by her sister Anna Mae Krier, wife of (Norman Krier) of Levittown, Pa. as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents (Lyla and Dewey Burkett), her brother, (Duane Burkett) and sister (Lyola "Sissy" Burkett) in addition to two husbands and a baby brother.

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, ND with Pastor Becky Holten officiating.

Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley.
