Caroline L. Steckler, 76, Jamestown, North Dakota died Saturday, September 25, 2004 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND.
Caroline Lucille Peters was born July 23, 1928 in Jamestown, the daughter of Frank and Alice (Pendray) Peters. She spent her entire life in Jamestown and attended Jamestown Schools for 12 years. She worked briefly at Montgomery Ward in Jamestown. Caroline married Alvin J. Steckler on September 14, 1946 in Moorhead, MN. She was a homemaker and raised four children.
She was a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels and enjoyed her family and visiting with friends. She was a member of the Basilica of St. James.
Caroline is survived by her four children; Janet (Don) Heupel, Algona, IA; Jean (Lewis) Legge, Valley City, ND; Virginia (Bruce) Salszieder, Edgeley, ND and Bill (Lee Ann) Steckler, Grand Forks, ND; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise (Herb) Voss, Omaha, NE and Eunice Kulink, Bismarck, ND.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin in 2002, her parents, one brother, Richard Peters and one sister, Alice Gengler.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 30, 2004 at Basilica of St. James, Jamestown with Father Al Bitz officiating.
Visitation: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Prayer Vigil: 8:00 PM, Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota
