Carolyn A. Oster, 72, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Friday, January 8, 2010 at Bethany Retirement Living Home in Fargo, ND.
Carolyn Ann Past was born December 11, 1937 in Fargo, North Dakota, the daughter of Lowell and Madeline (Duchscher) Past. She grew up in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School. She worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell and later Jamestown Public Schools.
Carolyn enjoyed camping, flowers, gardening, feeding the birds, and her pets. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed volunteering. She was also a member of Family Campers and RV'ers for 39 years, and served as Field & Insignia Director, and past Vice President of the Stutsman County Museum.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Archie, Jamestown; two sons, Jay (Becky) Oster, Clive, Iowa and Scott (Lauri) Oster, Albuquerque, New Mexico; two daughers, Julie (Mark) Gemar, Fargo, ND and Nicole (Victor Swanson) Oster, Jamestown; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Donald (Virginia) Past and William (LaVonne) Past, both of Omaha, NE.
She will be greeted in heaven by her parents, and best friend and sister-in-law, Marlene Tompt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or the James River Humane Society.
