Carroll Schmuhl

Carroll Calvin Schmuhl (Pete), born October 18, 1932 in Jamestown, ND was called home on February 27th, 2025 at the age of 92. Raised by his parents, George & Anna (Clemens) Schmuhl on the family farm in Linton Township, he was the youngest of children. He graduated from Jamestown high school in 1951. He farmed near Jamestown with his father, brother, and children. He married his wife Opal (Ashbaugh) on October 17th, 1960. They had 2 children, Cory (Candace Dobson) Schmuhl, and Gaylen (Sara Pedersen) Schmuhl, and three grandchildren, Ethan, Jocelyn, and Caylee.

Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Gaylen, his sisters, Florence (Gay) Van-Dam, Maureen/Violet (Hub) Thorson, and brothers, Harold (Helen) Schmuhl and Wilbur/Bud (Marty) Schmuhl.

He is survived by his wife, Opal Schmuhl, son, Cory (Candace) Schmuhl of Bismarck, ND, Sara Schmuhl of Valley City, ND and his three grandchildren several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 6th, 4:00pm-7:00pm at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND. The funeral service will be held Friday, March 7th, at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church, Jamestown, ND with a luncheon served after the service.  Carroll’s service will be live streamed on his obituary page @eddyfuneralhome.com.  A private burial will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ave Maria (SMP) Jamestown, ND and Hospice of the Red River Valley.  The family would also like to thank both organizations for all there help and care.
