Casey C. Helmstetler

Casey Helmstetler, 53, of Jamestown, ND, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at her home under hospice care.

Casey Poseley was born on July 26, 1958, in Fargo, ND the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Sheppard) Poseley. She grew up in Fargo and Tower City areas, graduating from Tower City High School. Casey married Greg Helmstetler on December 17, 1977 at St. James Basilica and made their home in Jamestown. She attended Jamestown College on a music scholarship and graduated from Valley City State University with a degree in teaching. Casey taught at St. John's Academy and at the Jamestown Public Schools in elementary and middle school education, focusing her efforts on reading.

Casey was active in Jazzercise and gave piano lessons from her home. She enjoyed knitting, baking and cooking, tending to flower gardens, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family. Casey found her greatest joys in helping students find success and building confidence in themselves.

Casey is survived by her husband, Greg Helmstetler, Jamestown; son, Chad (Sheena) Helmstetler, Grand Forks, ND; and daughter, Anna Helmstetler, Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Jude Poseley and Julie Poseley.

Eucharist of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2012 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown with Father Al Bitz officiating.

Family will receive guests: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2012 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND.
