Charles Elden Brady

Charles Elden Brady, 89, Jamestown, ND, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown.

Elden was born January 5, 1924 in Vashti, ND, the son of Charles Edgar and Merle Idane (Youngs) Brady. He attended and graduated from Pingree High School. He entered the US Navy on May 18, 1945 in Jamestown and was honorably discharged May 7, 1946. On July 21, 1945 Elden married Jean Moran in Moorhead, MN. She passed away in May 1989. They lived and farmed in the Pingree area from 1946 to 1953. They moved to Spiritwood Lake and he started working for the North Dakota Game and Fish Department for 34 years. During this time he raised pheasants and was instrumental in the Canadian Goose program. They moved to Jamestown in 1987. In April 1992 Elden married Florence Fowle in Jamestown. She died in July 2006.

Elden was a lifetime member of the Pingree Congregational Church, member of Gideons International , Wimbledon American Legion, lifetime member of VFW Post 760 and the Military Order of Cootie. He enjoyed music and dancing.

Elden is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles L. and Judy Brady, Jamestown; two grandsons, Charles E. (Jill) Brady, Cambridge, MN and Eric (Calli) Brady, Newport Beach, CA; three great grandchildren, Micah, Jonah and Isiah; special friend, Bernice Schultz, Jamestown; one sister, Vivian Sheets, Fargo, ND; one brother, Lowell (Esther) Brady, Molalla, OR.

He was preceded in death by his wives; parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
