Charles D. Hobert, a Jamestown, ND native, passed away peacefully, Friday, February 3, 2017 at age 88. He grew up near Spiritwood, ND. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a dog and horse lover and grew award-winning roses. He drove semi truck more than a million miles accident free for Jim Palmer Trucking. In retirement, he worked as a farm hand. He was preceded in death by his father Charles (Dan), his mother Viola, his sister Donna and his brother Robert. He is survived by his youngest sister Rae, daughter Lesa (John Sorteberg), four granddaughters, four great grandchildren, several stepchildren and foster children.
He is remembered as his daughter's biggest cheerleader and made the best brown sugar sandwiches, as well as was quite a graceful dancer. He enjoyed his daily breakfast buddies (Donnie and crew) and everyone at the S & R Truck Plaza, his supper buddies (Cheryl/Dan and crew) and employees at The Fort, along with Monica at his Credit Union. He was blessed with excellent health care from the Fargo VA. He had many wonderful experiences the final year of his life thanks to veteran's groups and his Jamestown friends.
Visitation : 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 14th, 2017 at Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.
Graveside Service : 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, June 14th, 2017 at Spiritwood Cemetery, ND with military rites.
