Charles Krauth, 82, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND.
Charles E. Krauth was born on March 2, 1925 at Hebron, ND the son of Kurt H. and Idah (Johnson) Krauth. He attended school at Hebron and graduated from Hebron High School in 1943. Charles entered the U. S. Army on June 9, 1943 and served in the European Theatre of Operations as an Army Medic. He participated in the D-Day operations. His unit also served as POW camp guards. He was discharged on April 9, 1946 and returned to North Dakota. He attended the University of North Dakota in 1946. On September 1, 1946, Charles married Charlotte Rusch in Jamestown, ND, and they made their home in Hebron, ND where Charles was an insurance agent. In 1953, they moved to Jamestown, ND where he worked for the United States Postal Service. Charles retired in 1975 after 22 years of service. He worked for Everetts & Associates from 1975 until 1981.
Charles was a member of The Basilica of St. James, Jamestown, ND; the American Legion Post 100, Hebron, ND; the VFW Post 760, Jamestown, ND and a lifetime member of the Jamestown Elks Lodge.
He enjoyed golf, baseball and football.
Survivors include his wife; 2 daughters: Connie Krauth, St. Louis Park, MN and Maxine (Mark) Lecy, Eden Prairie, MN; 1 grandson Patrick Lecy, Eden Prairie, MN; 1 brother: Kenneth (Lois) Krauth, Concord, CA and 2 sisters: Carol (Harry) Krieg, Central Point, OR and Karen Krauth, Bismarck, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kermit.

Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
Visitation - noon to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Monday
Interment - 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2007 at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, ND
