Charlotte Mickelson

Charlotte Mickelson, 65, of Jamestown, ND, died Friday, August 26, 2011 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Charlotte Bedker was born on July 15, 1946, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Johnson) Bedker. She graduated from Jud High School, Jud, ND in 1964. After attending Interstate Business College, Fargo, she worked at Merchants National Bank and Jamestown College Business Office. Char married Jerry Mickelson on October 1, 1966 in Kulm. They lived in Jamestown and later on the family farm near Jud where they farmed and raised their four children. Char moved to Jamestown in 1997 after the loss of her husband. She recently retired from her position at Stutsman County Social Services where she was employed for 21 years.

Char enjoyed quilting and gardening and especially loved her children and grandchildren. She touched many lives in her work at Social Services as well as in her personal life. Her patience, kindness, wisdom and grace were witnessed by all who knew her.

Char is survived by daughter, Dawn (Tom) Sparks, Fargo, ND; son, Jeff Mickelson, West Fargo, ND; daughter, Wendy (John) Denis, Fargo, ND; daughter, Amy Staiert, Jamestown, ND; 7 grandchildren; and one sister, Ardis (Jim) Vetter, Fargo, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral service: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 1, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Kenrad Pederson officiating.

Visitation: None scheduled. Arrangements by Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND
