Charlotte Nierling, 90, Jamestown, North Dakota died Sunday, November 6, 2005 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center in Jamestown.
Charlotte Nierling was born May 8, 1915 in Jamestown, the daughter of Bert V. and Anna (DePuy) Nierling. She grew up and attended school in Jamestown, graduating from Jamestown High School in 1933. She attended Jamestown College and graduated in 1937. She entered the U.S. Navy on April 19, 1943 in Jamestown, serving as a wave and was discharged on August 23, 1946. Charlotte received the Good Conduct ribbon, the Victory ribbon and the American Area award while serving in the U.S. Navy. Upon her return to Jamestown she worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone company until her retirement in 1977.
Charlotte was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Jamestown. She enjoyed driving her little car around and going to The Pantry to eat.
She is survived by a nephew, Richard (Phillipa) Nierling, Jr. of Dallas, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dr. Richard D. Nierling.
Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 10, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Thompson officiating.
Visitation: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota
