Charlotte Risgaard

Charlotte Rae Risgaard, 75, New Rockford, ND passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford, ND.

Charlotte Bruns, daughter of George and Lillian (Kunrath) Bruns was born February 10, 1947.  She and her brother Sam were raised on a farm by Stirum, ND.  She was baptized, confirmed, and later married at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Stirum.

She graduated from Oakes High School in 1965 and went on to receive her teaching degree at Valley City State College.  She taught elementary students for eight years before meeting Lee Risgaard who she married March 24, 1979.  They had two daughters, Linda and Cathy.  They lived in Ray, Bowman, Buffalo, Montpelier and Jamestown.  Charlotte worked at Jamestown Walmart for 22 years.  After retirement, she moved to New Rockford to be close to her daughter and grandkids.

She enjoyed working with children, teaching Sunday school, playing games, and spending time with family, friends, and her cat.  She had a special bond with her daughters and grandkids.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Jesse) Anderson, grandkids, Lexi and Taylor Anderson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Linda, husband Lee, niece Sue, and brother Sam.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 14, 2022 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Kristi Weber officiating.  Visitation will be one hour before the service.  Burial will take place at a later date.
