Charlotte Schweitzer, 91, Jamestown, ND, formerly of Courtenay, ND, died Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown, ND.
Charlotte "Lottie" Schoeler was born April 27, 1918 on the family farm near Courtenay, ND, the daughter of Herman and Tina (Natschke)) Schoeler. She was raised on the family farm and attended the rural school near Courtenay. After her schooling, she worked in Fargo, ND. In July of 1957, she married Frank Schweitzer and they settled near Berlin, ND where they farmed. When Frank died in September of 1972, Charlotte moved to Courtenay, ND and spent her winters in Arizona with her brother, Arnold. In 1988, she moved to Jamestown, ND. Charlotte managed all her own business affairs until her death.
Charlotte was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Courtenay and a member of the St. Mary's Altar Society.
Survivors include sister of the heart, Joyce (Donald) Bentz, Jamestown, ND; nieces and nephews: Sally (Robert) Horner, Grand Forks, ND; Sharon (John) Heinz, Lee's Summit, MO; Gerald Spitzer, Fargo, ND; Fred Spitzer, Fargo, ND; 2 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers: Arnold and Allen and 3 sisters: Evelyn, Betty and Ann.
Funeral - 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
Visitation - noon to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
Interment - St. Mary's Cemetery, Courtenay, ND
