Christina Coon

Christina Coon, 93, of Edgeley, ND, died Monday, May 23, 2011 at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure, ND.

Christina Reuther was born December 27, 1917, in Pettibone, ND, the daughter of John and Caroline (Bollinger) Reuther. She attended Pettibone, ND schools and moved to Diesem, ND with her family at a young age. Christina married Walter James Coon on June 21, 1938, in LaMoure, ND. They lived in Nortonville, ND, then moved to a farm south of Nortonville in 1947 where they farmed for many years. Walter died in May 1988 and Christina moved to Edgeley that year. In 2005, she moved to Manor St. Joseph in Edgeley.

She danced on Polka Party with the Nortonville dance groups.

Christina was a member of the Nortonville Methodist Church, and later, Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, and the Nortonville PTA.

She is survived by her daughter, Marlys Buckey, Fountain Valley, CA; two sons, Garry, New Rockford, ND and Larry (Kari), Edgeley; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and one sister, Katie Roehr, Jamestown, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Nola; son-in-law, Jerry; three brothers; four sisters.

Funeral Service: 10:30am, Friday, May 27, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, ND.

Visitation: 4:00pm-8:00pm, Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley.

Burial: Nortonville Cemetery, Nortonville, ND.
