Clarence H. Jensen, age 88, formerly of Edgeley, ND, passed away Tuesday, December 06, 2011, in Auburn, AL where he had resided the past two years.
Clarence Harley Jensen was born on March 17, 1923 on a farm outside of Berlin in LaMoure County, ND, the third child and oldest son of Hans and Clara (Oleson) Jensen. He was raised on the family farm outside Berlin and attended Wano Township #1 School.
Clarence married Inez Ruth Marie Fevold, daughter of Martin and Bertha (Olson) Fevold, on June 3, 1951. June 3, 2011, marked their 60th anniversary.
Mr. Jensen successfully farmed all his adult life until retiring in 1987. He and his wife belonged to and were active in the Willow Grove Church until it closed. They then became members of Edgeley United Methodist Church in Edgeley where they were very committed to and involved in the music ministry of the church for many years.
Mr. Jensen served on various boards in the community. He enjoyed reading, playing cards with friends, gardening, innovating, and most of all the outdoors, especially hunting and seeing the natural and varied beauty of the United States. He especially enjoyed their trips to Cody, WY for July 4th rodeos; the Black Hills of SD to see their many favorite beautiful sights and all the wildlife; he also enjoyed trips to Medora and the musicals there.
Mr. Jensen is remembered as a loving, devoted, faithful, hard-working son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. His family is comforted by their many good memories with him.
Mr. Jensen is survived by his wife, Inez Jensen, Auburn, AL; sons Ronald (Cherry) Jensen, Sheridan, AR, and Marlin (Amy) Jensen, Auburn, AL; and grandchildren, Nicki and Abbey Jensen, Conway, AR; and Jordan, Michael, and Claragrace Jensen, Auburn, AL; a sister, Charlotte Bruner, Jamestown; two brothers, Don Jensen, Edgeley, and Doyne (Betty) Jensen, Frederick, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gladys Brovold; and a brother, Floyd Jensen.
Funeral Service 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2011 at Edgeley United Methodist Church.
Visitation: 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2011 at Edgeley United Methodist Church .
Burial : Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
