Clarence Pratschner

Clarence Pratschner, 80, Oakes, ND, formerly Edgeley, ND died early Monday, June 16, 2008 at Oakes Manor Good Samaritan Center, Oakes, ND.
Clarence Edward Pratschner was born on October 7, 1927 on a farm in LaMoure County near Jud, ND, the son of John G. and Helena (Schlegel) Pratschner. He attended grade school at Raney Township School #1 and graduated from Jud High School in 1946. Clarence attended and studied electronics at North Dakota State School of Science at Wahpeton, ND. After graduation he was employed by Nagel and Sons, Edgeley, ND doing plumbing and heating in addition to electronics. He established his own shop in Edgeley, known as Pratschner Electronics, which he ran until retiring in 1989. He was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND.
Clarence had many interests. In his shop he could "fix anything". He was a pilot and enjoyed flying. He flew solo to and from Palm Springs, CA. He served on the Edgeley Airport Authority for many years. Other hobbies include oil painting, raising unique house plants, fashioning clocks, making furniture which included a rolltop desk which he built from the hardwood in one of the houses he tore down. He also spent many hours carving rifle stocks for customers. Clarence was featured in the Edgeley Mail in an article describing how he installed a new poured cement foundation under the house without raising the house up. He attended mass everyday at Manor St. Joseph.
Clarence became a resident of Good Samaritan Center, Oakes, ND on September 15, 2004.
Survivors include his 2 brothers, Leo (Virginia), Oakes, ND; Joseph (Audrey), Mandan, ND; a sister, Helen Geinert, Nortonville, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, Frank, John, Dennis, Al and Bernard, and a sister, Rosallia.
Funeral Service - 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2008 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND with Father Duaine Cote officiating
Visitation - noon to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Interment - Mount Calvary Cemetery, Edgeley, ND
