Clarence Wenzel

July 18, 1934 — May 2, 2015

Clarence "C.W." Wenzel, 80 of Wimbledon, ND died Saturday, May 2, 2015 near Wimbledon, ND. Clarence was born on the family homestead four miles North of Wimbledon, ND the son of John F. & Louise (Nelson) Wenzel. He attended and graduated from high school in Courtenay, ND and continued to work on the family farm and for other farmers around the area. In June 15, 1961, he married Elaine Haakenson in Wimbledon. Clarence worked as a farmer, bus driver and was the Wimbledon City Policeman. Later, he worked at Great Plains Supply, John Deere, Rolla Home, and Western Gear where he retired. After retirement he helped his son Ricky farm. Clarence loved his community where he touched and helped many people.
He had a tremendous talent for music, he taught music in high school where he played the french horn. He started a band called the "Silver Star Trio" in the 70's where he was the lead singer and guitar player. His talent grew and later he developed a passion for the piano, he never read a note on a music sheet but played everything by ear... he played so well that he often played for various functions and venues in the community, and throughout the midwest. He wrote and composed over 100 songs. With his passing, Clarence was a tremendous music talent, a legend, hero, father, grandfather, and pickle maker.
Clarence is survived by a daughter, Janel (Clint) Lowe, three sons; Ricky (Cindy) Wenzel, Dale (Michelle) Wenzel, Clarence Oliver Wenzel. Eleven grandchildren, Kyle Ames, Eric Ames, Kristi Ames, Kelsey Wenzel, Travis Wenzel, Elisa Wenzel, Mia Wenzel, Blaine Wenzel, Logan Wenzel, Luke Wenzel, Autumn Wenzel, step grandchildren Keith and Hailie Lowe; one great-grandchild, Aubree Thompson.
One Sister; Evelyn Kruse.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Jr.

Visitation; 1:00 to 7:30 PM, Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Eddy Funeral Home.
Rosary and Vigil Service; 7:30 PM, Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Eddy Funeral Home.
