Clement "Bob" Lonski, 90, Jamestown, North Dakota died Thursday, January 12, 2012 at North Dakota Veterans Home, Lisbon, North Dakota.
Clement Joseph Lonski was born March 8, 1921 in Foster County, North Dakota to Victor and Francis (Prodzinski) Lonski. He attended school in Kensal and graduated from Sykeston High School. Bob entered the United States Navy in January 3, 1941 and was honorably discharged on January 19, 1947. Bob served during WWII and was one of the few remaining Pearl Harbor survivors in North Dakota. On November 21, 1951, he married Bertha Trautman in Jamestown. Bob worked as an electrician in Jamestown for many years. He was a member of Vets Club, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, VFW, American Legion, Pearl Harbor Survivors, Elks and Eagles. Bob enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and trips to the casino.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Mary (John) Cobean, Apollo Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Timothy and Pamela, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, John and five sisters, Mary Falk, Cil Bertell, Francis Frownfelter, Florence Clancy and Helen Lonski.
