Colleen M. Flemmer

Colleen M. Flemmer, 76, Grand Island, Nebraska, formerly of Kensal, ND, died Saturday, April 24, 2004 at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora, NE.

Colleen was born on September 21, 1927 in Kensal, ND, the daughter of John E. and Bertha (Guenther) Schlosser. She grew up and attended school in Kensal, ND. Following graduation from Kensal High School, she attended Valley City Teacher's College in Valley City, ND. She taught in Millarton, ND, Turtle Lake, ND, and Glendive, MT. She married Meinhardt A. Flemmer on January 17, 1959 in Kensal, ND. They moved to Jamestown, ND, then to Fargo, ND, where Meinhardt worked for A.T.& T. The family moved to Missouri, then making their home in Nebraska. Colleen continued to work as a substitute teacher and teachers aid in all the cities where the family lived.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Grand Island, NE and Women's Church Circle. She was a 4-H leader and a Camp Fire Leader. Colleen enjoyed playing piano, sewing, square dancing, crafts, and spending time with the family.

Colleen is survived by her husband, Meinhardt A. Flemmer, of Grand Island, NE, two daughters, Barbara Jo (Patrick) Hallman, of Denver, CO, Brenda Jean Flemmer, of Denver, CO, a grandson, Luke A. Hallman, a granddaughter, Erin Marie Hallman, two sisters and a brother, Edward (Dee) Schlosser, of Jamestown, ND, Arlene (Ron) Wolsky, of Corvallis, MT, Carole (Frank) Weinrich, of Brookings, SD.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Winfred Ptucha.

Funeral Service: 1:30 PM, Friday, April 30, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Thursday, April 29, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
