Colleen Holzwarth

Colleen Holzwarth, 55, Buchanan, ND died at Fairview- University Hospital, Minneapolis MN on Saturday, April 15, 2006.
Colleen Joy Krapp was born August 11, 1950 at Jamestown, ND the daughter of Arnold and Ethel (Orner) Krapp. She was raised on the family farm near Pingree, ND where she loved the outdoors and helping her father farm. Colleen attended Roundtop Township School near Pingree through the seventh grade. She graduated from Buchanan High School in 1968. Colleen graduated from the University of North Dakota College of Nursing in 1972 and was a member of the first graduating class of Nurse Practitioners from the University in 1975. She received her Master's Degree in nursing from the University of North Dakota in 1992.
She was employed by Riverview Hospital, Crookston, MN from 1972 until 1974 as the Supervisor of the Obstetrics/Gynecology department. From 1975 until 1978 she was employed as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Q&R Clinic in Bismarck, ND and from 1979 until the present she has been employed as a Pediatric and Family Nurse Practitioner at MeritCare Clinic, Jamestown, ND. She has also been serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of North Dakota College of Nursing as a Clinical Coordinator of the Nurse Practitioner Program since 1993.
Colleen and Ronald Holzwarth were married at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Pingree, ND on May 12, 1972. They lived in East Grand Forks, MN until 1975 when they moved to Bismarck. They returned to Buchanan, ND to live and farm in 1978.
Colleen embraced life to the fullest with limitless hobbies and interests, which include gardening, playing piano, crafts and biking. She loved her family, friends, colleagues, students, patients and most especially her new granddaughter, Ella Colleen.
Survivors include her husband; 1 daughter, Kara Ann (Tyler) Falk, Jamestown, ND; 1 son, Ryan Lee, Jamestown, ND; 1 granddaughter, Ella Colleen Falk; 2 brothers, Dwight (Ramona) Krapp, Cincinnati, Ohio, Oren (Connie) Krapp, Pingree, ND; 6 sisters, Barbara (Gary) Cobleigh, Colorado Springs, CO; Mary Jo Falck, Fargo, ND; Lorna (Robert) Traut, Buchanan, ND; Jean (Michael) Seltvedt, Fargo, ND; Joan (Bruce) Perleberg, Jamestown, ND and June (Joe) Krapp-Detmer, Pingree, ND; and many nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death.
Colleen was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church, Buchanan, ND. She was also a member of several professional organizations including Sigma Theta Tau, National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty, North Dakota Nurses Association and American Nurses Association.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006 at The Basilica of St. James, Jamestown, ND with Father Al Bitz officiating.
Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at The Basilica of St. James, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the church on Wednesday and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Interment: Buchanan Cemetery, Buchanan, ND
