Cora Kortendick, 91, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown. Cora Christopherson was born December 5, 1912 in Jamestown the daughter of Nora Christopherson and David Naze. Upon the death of her mother when she was 5 years old, she was raised by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Christopherson. Cora attended and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1930. On October 1, 1938 Cora married Ralph Kortendick in Jamestown. Cora and Ralph moved to Pingree after marriage, where they lived for 30 years. In 1974, Cora and Ralph moved to Jamestown and began spending their winters in McAllen, Texas. She was a homemaker all her life, enjoyed doing craft projects with Ralph and knitting & crocheting for loved ones.

Cora was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown for over 80 years. She was also a member of the Pingree Senior Citizens, Pingree Lutheran Ladies Aid and of the local, state and national Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary. Cora served as State President of the Auxiliary two different times.

Cora is survived by two daughters, Mary (Dennis) Gainsforth, Jamestown and Anna Norene (Stephen) Fulton of Coon Rapids, MN, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, one son-in-law, Raymond Kautzman, two half sisters, Dorothea Card of Tennessee and Avis Wilmot of New York and a very special friend, Alice Johansen, Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, one daughter, Carol Kautzman and a great-grandson, Tyler Max Gainsforth.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 13, 2003 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Rev. David Eppelsheimer and Rev. David Fisher officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Friday, December 12, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 8:00 PM, Friday, December 12, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
