Cynthia M. Prodzinski, 80, rural Courtenay, ND died Thursday, May 31, 2012 at her home.
Cynthia Marie Schwalk was born March 20, 1932 in Jamestown, to Louis and Sarah (Stampka) Schwalk. As a small child she moved with her family to the farmstead where she remained for most of her adult life. She attended grade school in Durham township and graduated from Courtenay High School. She received her Bachelors degree from Valley City Teachers College and taught school in Fried and Ashland Townships, Courtenay and Wimbledon. She retired from teaching after 34 years and lived on the family farm until her death.
She married Paul Prodzinski on October 30, 1956 at Courtenay. He died in 1958.
Cynthia was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Courtenay until it closed. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and Senior Centers at Courtenay and Jamestown. She was an avid gardener and produced beautiful flowers around the entire farm. She baked wedding cakes for many years and truly enjoyed all of her pets and doing puzzle books. Cynthia always enjoyed visiting with her former students and reminiscing about their school days. She helped her father on the family farm until his retirement and always enjoyed the outside work.
Cynthia is survived by numerous cousins, and special friends, Vickie and Paul Marsalek.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
