Dagmar Bye

Dagmar Bye, 94, Jamestown, formerly of Barton, ND died Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown after many years of declining health. Dagmar Haakenson was born September 2, 1911 in Barton, North Dakota; the first of ten children of Pedar and Caroline (Rustin) Haakenson. She spent her childhood in Barton. Prior to her marriage she was school teacher. Dagmar Haakenson and Adolph Bye were married July 1, 1942. They farmed in the Barton area. Adolph died January 9, 1979. Dagmar enjoyed farm life, taking care of her yard and flowers and watching game shows on television. Dagmar is survived by; one daughter, Sharon (Roger) Hasey, Jamestown; one granddaughter, Andrea (Derrick) Scanlon, Burnsville, MN; one grandson, Robert, Fargo, ND; and a great grandchild to be born in July. Two brothers, Lionel (Esther), Anchor Point, AK, George (Adella), Barton, ND; one sister, Norma Lent (Ted Fuller), Lafayette, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and three sisters.
