Dagney Elizabeth Murray, 92, of Wimbledon, ND went home to be with the Lord on December 4, 2010. She was born on September 21, 1918 in Arnegard, ND and was the sixth of the seven children born to Knute and Bertha Stamnes. Dagney was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from the Arnegard High School in 1937. On October 10, 1939 Dagney was united in marriage to Vincent Murray in Aberdeen, SD. They farmed with Vince's parents in Clementsville until 1942 when they purchased a farm south of Wimbledon. This is where they raised their children Sandra, Doug and Lynn. After 40 years of loving marriage Vince passed away on April 26, 1980. Dagney remained living on the farm while spending the winter months with her daughter in Nebraska.
Dagney loved spending time with her family, especially when celebrating birthdays and holidays. She was passionate about giving gifts, attending church, working in her garden, and keeping her home well kept and family well fed. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Wimbledon and a charter member of the Brimer Homemakers Club of which she belonged to for 66 years.
Dagney will be especially remembered for her determination to put everyone else first, her relentless work ethic, and her desire to live each day to the fullest.
Dagney is survived by her daughter, Sandra Morisette of Springfield, NE, son Douglas (and Sharon) Murray of Wimbledon, ND, and son Lynn (and Darlene) Murray of Alexandria, MN along with six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers John, Ordean and Andy, sisters Alma, Myrtle, and Inga, and son-in-law James Morisette.
Blessed be the memory of a kind, loving and generous woman.
