Daniel Anderson

Daniel Arthur Anderson, 75, Jamestown, ND, passed away on May 1, 2024, at his home. Dan was born September 3, 1948, in Fargo, ND to Arthur and Ragna (Larson) Anderson. He grew up and attended school in Fort Ransom, ND and went on to attend 4 years at Valley City State University.

On August 8, 1971, he married Charlotte Klose. Dan had various jobs in his younger years, but then ended up working for Coca-Cola for almost 30 years. Everyone knew him as Dan the Coke Man. He then went to work at the North Dakota State Hospital in 2002 and retired in 2016. People always asked him if he was going to go south for the winter then and he would say he might go all the way to Edgeley. Maybe even Jud!

Dan had a special bond with his granddaughter, Niki, and his dog, Ernie, that Niki picked out for him. Dan enjoyed hunting, his daughter’s cooking, and riding his 4-wheeler, running Ernie, until Ernie passed away a few years ago. He also enjoyed his Busch Light, brandy water, and a little bit of pull-tab investing. He had friends everywhere he went and spent his afternoons with many of them after he retired.

Dan is survived by two sons, Chris Anderson, Jamestown, Peter Anderson, Bismarck; one daughter, Kathy (Martin) Nitschke, Jamestown; six grandchildren, Nicole (Steven) Naasz, Kyle Anderson, Kaydn Fritz, Zachary Hust, Ezry Anderson, Damien Anderson; one great granddaughter, Elli Naasz; and one great grandson, due in July, that will carry the name Daniel as his middle name.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his brother, Jon Anderson

A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Susan Haukaas officiating.
