Daniel Kornovich, 77, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Jamestown Hospital.
Dan was born January 2, 1932 at Trinity Hospital, in Jamestown, the son of Edmund and Florence (Beaumaster) Kornovich. He was raised just south of Jamestown, in Homer Township. He attended St. John's Academy, graduating in 1950. He then attended a year of college at N.D.S.U. and a year at Jamestown College. He returned to farming with his father until the winter of 1951-52. Dan moved to Wichita, KS, where he worked for the Boeing Aircraft Company for several months.
In 1954 Dan entered the U.S. Army at Fort Riley, KS, where he attended basic training. He was sent to Fort Sill, OK, for heavy artillery training, and was discharged in January 1956 from Fort Sill. From 1959 to 1960 Dan lived in St. Louis, MO, where he worked for the Chrysler Corporation.
He returned to North Dakota, where the family had moved to Buchanan, ND. He once again started farming and had a livestock feeding operation. He also was involved with livestock buying and selling.
He married Eileen J. Samuelson on March 18, 1983 in Jamestown. They made their home in Jamestown. Dan retired from farming and livestock in 1995. Eileen died August 1, 1998.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.

Visitation: 12:00 to 5:00 PM, Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Home
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
