Darlene Lavonne Lindsay, 79, of Jamestown, ND died Friday, March 20, 2015, at Eventide Nursing Home in Jamestown. Darlene Lavonne Shell, daughter of William Harold and Hilda Lucille (McCaw) Shell, was born in Dixon, Nebraska on January 8, 1936. She attended school in Dixon and Wayne Nebraska.
On March 20, 1954, Darlene married Thomas W. Lindsay in Wayne, Nebraska where they lived until Tom found work in Minneapolis, MN area.
Tom's work transferred them many times and they lived in Dodge Center, MN, Sioux Falls, SD, Jamestown, ND, and Stockton, CA. Tom passed away in Stockton, California in 1984. Darlene worked at various retail stores in Stockton and then started her own business embroidering logos and names on hats, towels, bowling bags and shirts for BJK Bowling Supply in Stockton.
She moved back to Jamestown, ND where it was closer for her to travel to her parents in Laurel, NE to help them in their later years. Darlene loved reading and doing different craft projects. She enjoyed making flower arrangements and worked for Don's House of Flowers in Jamestown, ND. She crocheted many afghans and dolls until her eyesight failed her.
Darlene is survived by two sons, T. Brian (Kathie), Jamestown, ND and D. Brad (Judi), Stockton, CA; three grandchildren, Troy, Kiel and Danielle; five great-grandchildren; one sister Sharon (Karl) Adamson, Tekamah, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Tom.
Memorial service: 10:30 AM , Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, North Dakota.
No Visitation.
Burial at Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi, California.
