Darrel Seher, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in Mesa, AZ, their winter home since 2000.
Darrel, age 74, was born in Jamestown, the son of Arthur and Agnes (Skattum) Seher, where he resided his entire life. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1956, served in the National Guard, and worked for Montgomery Wards.
In 1958 he married Shirley Clark from Underwood, ND. He worked for Monarch Appliances, traveling throughout the state of North Dakota, Buckingham Transfer, Northern Improvement and Jamestown Grocery. He owned the Mobil Oil bulk franchise and managed two Mobil Stations in Jamestown until 1983 when he became semi-retired due to health reasons. In 2004 he retired and spent the winter months in Arizona.
Darrel enjoyed motorcycling, restoring and driving Studebaker cars, and trap shooting. He was a member of the National Studebakers Club, the North Dakota Roughrider Studebaker Club, the Grand Canyon Studebaker Club, Jamestown Classic Car Club and a charter member of the James River Humane Society.
Darrel is survived by his wife, Shirley, Jamestown; three sons, Kevin (Brenda) Seher, Baldwin, ND, David (Judy) Seher, Jamestown, Jeffrey Seher (special friend, Laura Fruetel), Jamestown; brother, Duane (Helen) Seher, Bend, OR; mother-in-law, Elsie Clark, Underwood, ND; two grandchildren, Cari (Derek) Morey and Dustin Seher. Taffy, his companion dog, was very special.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
