Darrell Bjerke

Darrell Bjerke, 77, passed away on December 19, 2024 in Jamestown, ND surrounded by his loved ones.  We are comforted in knowing that Darrell is now resting peacefully in the eternal arms of the Lord.

Darrell was born on March 11, 1947, in Rugby, ND, to Ole and Edith (Marlenee) Bjerke.  He was the youngest of seven and raised in Devils Lake, ND.  Darrell had three children of his own, Kyle, Amber and Chalsey.  From a young age, Darrell found great joy in hunting, fishing and spending time outside plus sharing those passions with his children.  He also had a knack for tackling any project or repair that came his way.  One of his favorite pastimes was sitting outside with a cup of coffee, enjoying the peacefulness of the moment and the freshly cut lawn that he took great pride in.

In 2001, he married Virginia (Dockter), and together they shared 23 wonderful years until the day he passed.  Their time together was marked by simple joys such as drives to get ice cream and their beloved pets who brought them so much love and laughter.

Darrell loved connecting with people.  Whether visiting with family and friends or anyone he met along the way, his conversations will be deeply missed.

Darrell is survived by his wife Virginia; daughter Chalsy (Ryan) Martin; sister Beverly, many step kids, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son Kyle and daughter Amber, siblings Charles, Ernest, Frances, Clifford and Agnes.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND with Deacon Ken Votava officiating.
