Darwin Geigle

April 17, 2014 — July 1, 2014

Darwin Jay Geigle, 37, of New Richmond, Wisconsin lost a courageous and steadfast battle with cancer on July 1, 2014. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Jamestown, North Dakota on April 17, 1977 to Ron and Betty Geigle. He was the youngest of 5 brothers and enjoyed many mischievous adventures growing up on a farm in rural North Dakota. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1995 and attended both Jamestown College and North Dakota State University. He married the love of his life, Janet Lee Mastel, in Jamestown, North Dakota on July 20, 2002. Darwin and Janet moved to New Richmond, Wisconsin; built a home, started a family, and shared a life full of close friends, family, and cherished memories. They welcomed their beautiful daughter, Addison Mae Geigle, into their lives on April 29, 2008. Every moment since has been all about the love of their family and filled with vacations, birthday parties (Darwin as the DJ), sporting events (Go Vikings!), and many other celebrations. Words cannot express the love and adoration Darwin shared with Janet and Addison; they were his world.

Darwin and his brother Mike owned and operated an electrical contracting business, Geigle Electric. He enjoyed his profession and was a meticulous electrician. He enjoyed the social aspects of his job and working with people from all over the surrounding communities.

Darwin had four main loves in life: his family, music, riding motorcycle, and the Minnesota Vikings. He loved to have a good time and for those around him to laugh, and enjoy their time with him. He will be remembered by friends and family as a man that was full of life, witty, and there for others when they needed him. Whether it was a sporting event, motorcycle ride, or vacation, Darwin was dressed for the event to a level that made the experience a memorable one for everyone.

Darwin is survived by his wife Janet and daughter Addison Geigle, New Richmond, WI; his mother Betty Geigle, Jamestown, ND; his four brothers: Michael (wife Crystal, children Mallory and Joshua) Geigle, New Richmond, WI; Steven (wife Evonne, children Kade and Micah) Geigle, Devils Lake, ND; Brian Geigle (children Kaizer, Kelsey, and Galvin), Baldwin, WI; and Keith (wife Shanna, children Andrew, Lucas, and Greta) Geigle, West Fargo, ND. Darwin is also survived by loving in-laws Leroy and Donna Mastel, Jamestown, ND; brother-in-law, Michael, Milnor, ND; sister-in-law, Stacie Mastel (children Ethan, Ericka, and Marc) Fairfax, MN; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
