Dave Lee Farthing

Dave Farthing, 64, of Jamestown, ND, died Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at home in peace.

Darold Lee Farthing, Jr. was born September 16, 1957 in Jamestown, to Darold Sr. and Crystal (Thompson) Farthing.  On March 13, 1976, Dave married Sandra “Sandy” Bjorland in Jamestown at St. James Basilica.  Their son, Eric was born April 3, 1979.

Dave was a man of many different trades.  He was employed at Wedgcor Steel from 1977 to 2009.  In 2009, Dave and Sandy were involved in a motorcycle accident and Dave was not able to return to work for a nine-month period.  After a long period of recovery, Dave went back to work.  He worked for Midwest Machine, Malack of Valley City, and Champ Industries USA until 2019 when he could no longer work due to the onset of COPD, Emphysema, and eventually lung cancer.  Dave also enjoyed working on his computer and woodworking in the garage, doing different projects for friends and family.

Dave is survived by his wife, Sandy; son, Eric (Anna); three grandchildren, Jessica (Micah) Enderle, Austin, and Benjamin; four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Shilo, Zoe, and Coraline; seven sisters, Kathy (Joel) Bechtold, Maria (John) Gilliard, Denise Reed, Monica (Jerry) Hieb, Tina Farthing, Candace Carrow, and Carol Edinger/Walker; five brothers, Terry (Joan) Farthing, Randy Farthing, Lonnie (Ashlie) Farthing, William Jackson III, and Hakem Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, Ron Farthing; three sisters, Judith Ann, Athena, and Leiliani.

Family will receive guest from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Memorial Service – 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 28, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Kristi Weber officiating.

Burial – Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown at a later date.
