David Richard Housh, 80, Jamestown, ND, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.
David was born May 20, 1932 in LaMoure, ND, the son of Charlie and Dorothy (Witt) Housh. He grew up in LaMoure and graduated from LaMoure High School. David enlisted in the North Dakota National Guard on January 6, 1949 and was honorably discharged on January 5, 1952 from Camp Rucker, AL. He returned to North Dakota and on May 13, 1952 married Dorothy Johnson in Britton, SD. He worked for Northwestern Bell, later US West and retired from Qwest.
David enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He collected caps, lighthouses and ships. David was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, American Legion, Elks, Communication Workers of America, Telephone Pioneers of America, Good Sam club and a past member of the 40+8.
David is survived by his wife, Dorothy, Jamestown; two sons, Gary (Teresa) Housh, West Fargo, ND and Mark (Julie) Housh, Fargo; two daughters, Susan (Douglas) Gomke, Fargo and Judy (Brent) Sundeen, Jamestown; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert (Gloria) Housh, Findlay, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
