Dawn Guthmiller

February 8, 1961 — December 10, 2019

Dawn Renee (Reinke) Guthmiller, 58, of Jamestown, North Dakota passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo following a courageous battle with cancer.

Dawn was born in Jamestown on February 8, 1961, the daughter of Clifford and Margaret (Clemens) Reinke and granddaughter of Bill and Edith Reinke and Roy and Florence Clemens. She attended Washington elementary and graduated from Jamestown high school in 1979. She married Steve Guthmiller at St. John’s Lutheran Church on November 24, 1979. She worked many years at Eventide @ Hi Acres Manor, then a lunch lady for two years before becoming Head Cook for two years at Roosevelt School. Dawn enjoyed attending kids’ activities, gatherings with family and friends, sitting on her outdoor swing during summer, and reading a book. She liked cooking, baking, and doing jig-saw, crossword, and sudoku puzzles and spending time with family pets. Dawn loved caring for and watching her garden and flowers grow. She also made the most delicious popcorn balls.

Dawn is survived by her husband, Steve Guthmiller of Jamestown, two sons; Jason of Grand Forks, and Matt (Kayla Gutzmer) of Fargo, sister, Gwen (Russ) Geiszler, father-in-law, Les Guthmiller, sisters-in-law; Deb Guthmiller and Char Guthmiller, niece and nephews; Gary A Reinke of Carrington, Amy (Don) Walz of Jamestown, Jolene (Ken) Boelens of Minnesota, Aaron Geiszler of Carrington, great nieces and nephews; Blake (Melissa) Boelens, Kelsi (Josh) Veik, Brittani Boelens, Garret Reinke, Ben (Taylor) Walz, Brindy Boelens, Lucas Geiszler, Kiara Geiszler, Andrew Walz, Nate Walz, great-great niece and nephews; Kirk Jacoby, Carter Boelens, Emmie Veik, and Barrett Walz.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gary E Reinke, grandparents, and mother-in-law, Berneice Guthmiller.

Visitation: 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday December 15, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Sunday December 15, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Pastor Lucas Holstein officiating.

Memorial Service: 2:30PM, Monday, December 16, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Pastor Lucas Holstein officiating.
